Better hit the gym than going for a smoke. I'm not a smoker, and I always got to the ballpark to play basketball. I feel healthier and more energetic every time I exercise. Nice article, dude.

Just something I learned from Malcolm Gladwell. If you smoke less than 5 cigarettes a day you're a casual smoker. Smoke more than that and It's a recipe for addiction. :)

Just a head's up. And yeah, I never tried smoking

Nice article you have here. I don't think smoking addiction is hard to stop. But one should have a hard push for him to be able to stop. I know someone who smoked 3 packs a day 15 years ago. But when her husband was diagnosed with a heart problem and the doctor told him to stop smoking, he told him "How can I stop smoking if my wife is still smoking?" Then the wife immediately decided on that very day to stop. It was 15 years, right there and then, on that very day she never ever lay her hands on a cigarette again. She told me she never felt any withdrawal syndrome though she smoked for 30 years. It's all in the mind i think. It's been 15 years now, and she's 85 :)

I'm not a smoker so I have not much to say, exercising is always good so I hit the gym whenever I can and be refreshed. I don't mean to offend smokers by saying this but it comes with being selfish too, if they think of the people around them who gets more "damage" for second hand smoke they should stop...but some just don't care and go on smoking. (not generalizing, there are those who smoke alone because they are considerate still)...

i don't smoke but hubby does .He was trying to stop but he can't.Good thing about himis that he don't smoke inside the house so I don't worry about the second hand smoke.

I am a smoker, like 3 or less in a day. But I also go to the gym, eat healthy foods, etc. For me smoking is kinda way of relaxing. Not really addicted to it. But if you cannot stop smoking, you should at least know how to control.

I'm always trying to convince my mom to stop smoking, a habit I fortunately did not pick up from her. I don't think she can do it though, she's been doing it for way too long.

I agree, it's tough to consistently follow an exercise program. it was easy for me to start but with too much things to do, I end up canceling my jog and take that extra 30min-1hr to catch up with To Do's. Maybe it'd help to initially target small, realistic fitness goals so next time would be worth looking forward to. I guess I'll try that for Jan!

I used to smoke 10 years ago. I quit -for my family.

I get most of my focus, beat stress and renew energy from meditation :) thankful for a friend-turned monk who taught me how.

I am the exercise-slack-exercise gal hahaha. And I complain I am in bad shape? LoL. I don't smoke though, but I live with a guy who does yet he does gym too. I hope he finally gets to quit! He says it helps that he does exercise but I guess quitting smoking really takes some willpower. He aught to read this post!
